The Toolkit, which is fully compatible with NetBeans, Visual Studio and Eclipse, provides many easy-to-use client libraries so developers can skip the tedious parts and focus on the functionality needed on the phone. The Toolkit includes:
- A complete sample application in source code including a Mobile Client, Service Application, Administration Pages, and a Connection Agent
- A large library of APIs
- Complete documentation for setting up a Mobility Server and for each of the APIs
- A development version of the Mobility Server and 14 mobile device emulators
Application Frameworks Even Further Accelerate Development
Taking this a major step further, the Toolkit also includes a growing collection of configurable application frameworks that greatly simplify the development common types of services and applications.
The Remote Control framework monitors and controls critical aspects of a business such as the status of essential processes, the integrity of a mission critical application, the health of a server, etc.
We used this application framework to create HipCheck, a service that allows UNIX and Windows server administrators to proactively monitor and manage the health of their systems remotely through their Windows mobile phones.
The Transaction framework enables forms-based interaction with backend database and transactional systems. It expedites the development of a wide array of mobile applications, such as order entry, database query and claims processing.
This framework was used to create the CarlaMobile application for Carladata, one of Europe’s largest software providers specializing in automotive aftermarket retail solutions.
When used individually or in combination, these frameworks can significantly accelerate the development of enterprise-caliber mobile solutions.
